A PORCELAIN CELADON VASE, China, late 19th century / early 20th century

h. 23 cm

Shaped like a balustrade column, it is well incised on the ovoid body with archaic motifs, on the foot the incisions take the form of flowing petals and on the neck stylised banana leaves. It is completely covered with a celadon glaze; the centre of the base bears the apocryphal six-character mark in underglaze blue of Emperor Qianlong.
