The Design Department focuses on the appraisal and promotion of historical and 20th-century design objects, with particular attention to works that have shaped the evolution of taste, innovation, and high-quality industrial production.
We evaluate furniture, objects, and decorative pieces from private collections, foundations, and estates, selecting works distinguished by design quality, historical significance, condition, and provenance.
A particular area of expertise is Italian design, internationally recognized for its ability to combine craftsmanship, formal experimentation, and industrial vision. The Department examines and appraises, among others, furniture and objects by leading 20th-century Italian designers such as Gio Ponti, Carlo Mollino, Franco Albini, Osvaldo Borsani, Ico Parisi, Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Marco Zanuso, Ettore Sottsass, and the Memphis group, as well as historic productions from companies such as Cassina, Arflex, Tecno, B&B Italia, and Olivetti.
Alongside Italian design, the Department also considers international works and creations that engage with the worlds of art, architecture, and high craftsmanship, following a curatorial approach attentive to both cultural context and market relevance.
Our specialists provide confidential and complimentary valuations, supporting collectors throughout the entire process, from the initial appraisal to selecting the most appropriate sales channel.
