Design & Luxury Department

The Design & Luxury Department is dedicated to the evaluation and enhancement of historic design objects and 20th-century design, with a particular focus on works that have played a key role in shaping taste, innovation, and high-quality industrial production.

We assess furniture, objects, and decorative pieces from private collections, foundations, and estates, selecting works distinguished by their design quality, historical relevance, condition, and provenance.

A core area of expertise is Italian design, internationally recognised for its unique ability to combine craftsmanship, formal experimentation, and industrial vision. The Department evaluates, among others, furniture and objects by leading figures of 20th-century Italian design such as Gio Ponti, Carlo Mollino, Franco Albini, Osvaldo Borsani, Ico Parisi, Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, Marco Zanuso, Ettore Sottsass, and the Memphis Group, as well as historic productions by companies including Cassina, Arflex, Tecno, B&B Italia, and Olivetti.

Alongside Italian design, the Department also considers international design and works that engage in dialogue with art, architecture, and fine craftsmanship, adopting a curatorial approach that carefully balances cultural context and market relevance.
