LARGE PORCELAIN VASE OF 'HU' SHAPE IN DOUCAI ENAMELS, China, late 19th century

With a beautiful archaic form, it is well painted on the body with doucai enamels with blue under cover, yellow, red and green above cover with lotus flowers between the leaves and Shou symbols, under a band of ruyi; on the neck there are still well wishing Shou symbols between swastikas in underglaze blue, all under a beautiful continuous greek; on the foot there is a band of petals with floral motifs; on the sides there are two beautiful iron red handles. The centre of the base bears the apocryphal six-character seal mark in underglaze blue of Emperor Qianlong.
