HONGMU AND MOTHER-OF-PEARL CABINET, Vietnam, 19th century

With a beautiful cubic shape simulating a house resting on four legs, it has small drawers and doors around the main opening in the centre. It is meticulously carved with small columns and studded with mother-of-pearl inlays depicting dragons, floral motifs, geometric decorations, characters and flowers.
