A BLUE AND WHITE BOTTLE-SHAPED PORCELAIN VASE, China, Ming dynasty, Jiajing period (1521-1567)

The compressed globular body is well painted in underglaze blue with two lobed panels surrounded by three-pointed clouds, depicting a qilin and a lion among clouds and waves. The long, narrow neck is decorated with flowering branches.  

Provenance: private collection, Liguria.
