A BLUE AND WHITE KOSOMETSUKE PORCELAIN INCENSE BURNER, China, Ming dynasty, Tianqi period (1621-1627)

Rectangular in shape, the lid handle is modeled as a seated lion, decorated with the fukizumi technique of misted ink. The body, with a lobed foot, is beautifully painted with panels featuring floral motifs on a blue background, alternated with panels displaying Buddhist symbols. It comes with its Japanese wooden box.
