With a sinuously lobed form divided into eight sections, resting on a flat foot that tapers into a globular body and culminating in a wide flared rim with a deep blue ground, it features two dog-head handles holding rings in their mouths. Finely painted within two scalloped reserves, a five-clawed dragon is depicted soaring among the clouds towards a carp emerging from the waves. The base bears a six-character underglaze blue mark of the Guangxu Emperor.
