The inlays are set within borders of semi-precious and precious stones, arranged in linear and sculpted elements of various shapes, creating vivid colour contrasts. The frame, veneered in ebony and moulded, is embellished with a thin internal brass fillet and low-relief enamelled inlays in shades of red, green and blue. The reverse bears a note indicating its possible provenance.
