Fine miniature derived from “The Source” by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, one of the most celebrated models of European Neoclassical painting, now in the Musée d’Orsay, Paris. The composition, traceable to the iconography of the Venus Anadyomene, is here rendered with remarkable formal fidelity and with a particularly refined sensitivity in execution.
