Carlo Bugatti
(1856 - 1940)

LIBRARY CABINET, 1900 ca.

h cm 214 x l cm 100 x p cm 45
Executed in polychrome woods with bone inlays arranged in refined geometric patterns.
The two lateral beams are decorated with pewter ornamentation, alternating with stylised insect motifs. The lower section is articulated by small columns clad in bands of repoussé copper, worked with floral decorative patterns.
At the upper part, a large repoussé copper rosette functions as a door to an internal compartment, itself structured by wooden columns and consistently decorated, following the characteristic scenographic conception typical of Carlo Bugatti’s production.
