A 'LANDSCAPE' PORCELAIN VASE, China, Republic Period (1912-1949)

With a low foot, ovoid body, and short flaring neck, it is finely painted in grisaille and sepia tones in a continuous mountainous landscape with trees, pagodas, and figures crossing a bridge; on the upper reverse it bears a poetic inscription with seals in puce color. The base bears an apocryphal four-character mark of the Qianlong Emperor in overglaze blue within a double square.
