AN AMETHYST BALUSTER-SHAPED VASE AND COVER, China, early 20th century

Carved in the form of a baluster column with a square-section cover fitted with two lion-head handles holding rings; the body is carved with reserves containing flowers. It rests on its inlaid wooden stand.
