A neoclassical-style wood carving depicting a standing muse, her body draped in a long gown with delicate folds, whilst she holds a circular object and a large, billowing drape.
The composition is enclosed within a rectangular wooden frame, embellished with extremely fine inlays featuring floral motifs, festoons, bluebells and plant scrolls, arranged symmetrically against a dark background. A thin beaded border delineates the central panel, whilst elegant stylised foliage motifs appear at the corners.
