Rectangular in shape, made of gilded plaster in relief, depicting the Descent from the Cross. Set within a moulded wooden frame, partially gilded and painted in green-blue.
The composition can be attributed to the Renaissance sculptural tradition of Guglielmo della Porta (c. 1515–1577), a sculptor active in Rome during the 16th century.
