FAMILLE ROSE PORCELAIN VASE JU REN TANG ZHI MARKED, China, Republic Period (1912-1949)

Elegantly shaped with an ovoid body and short neck, it is painted with flowers and antique objects in famille rose enamels; in the centre of the base it bears the iron-red four-character square mark Ju Ren Tang Zhi.

Catalogue notes: Ju Ren Tang Zhi translates as 'Hall Where Benevolence Resides' and was located in Zhongnanhai, the building where Yuan Shikai lived, and where he had his office around 1915.
