At the centre are decorated with a five-clawed dragon depicted frontally in iron red, writhing within a circular field of flames and ruyi-shaped clouds also in iron red; the dragon’s gaze is directed towards a gilt flaming pearl placed near its body. The interior rim is painted in vivid famille-rose enamels with three flowering sprays, while the exterior rim is similarly decorated with three floral sprays; the centre of the base bears a six-character iron-red mark of the Guangxu Emperor.
