A black and white marble case with gilded bronze inlays. The mechanism is positioned in the centre and strikes the hours and half-hours as they pass; it is flanked on either side by two columns topped with a globe and an armillary sphere. The dial, featuring Arabic numerals, bears the maker’s mark.
